Welcome
‘HEARTS & MINDS’ 2011 – 2013
Occupation Arts is working with the internationally renowned organisation Age Exchange who are recognised as the leading UK charity working in the field of reminiscence. Having received a major grant of £238,000 from the South London & Maudsley Charitable Fund, Age Exchange is running the ‘Hearts & Minds’ in partnership with the South London & Maudsley NHS Trust. The grant supports 3 years of creative arts and reminiscence projects for older and younger people with mental health needs in Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham, and Southwalk. The programme includes: group projects, one to one referrals, training of artists and health care professionals, and dance, film and reminiscence theatre productions by service users. ‘Hearts and Minds’ is being evaluated by Royal Holloway University of London. This year staff from Occupation Arts are helping to deliver 2 ten-week reminiscence sessions plus work with individuals who are not able to access groups.
